Carbon removal is essential for our planet

We are all already feeling the effects of climate change. To prevent its impacts from becoming more devastating, it is necessary to limit the increase in average global temperature to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels. This requires annual global CO₂ emissions, which were around 40 gigatonnes per year in 2018, to be reduced to net zero by 2050. To achieve this goal, it will be essential not only to drastically cut the new emissions we release into the atmosphere, but also to remove the carbon already present in the air. And Bluestworld was created to do just that, focusing on the mining industry.

An approach in which we use the by-products, co-products and solid waste from mining in conjunction with microorganisms and the cultivation of high-performance regenerative plants to remove carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide from industrial processes circulating for more than 10,000 years, as well as recycling nitrous oxide, transforming it into inert nitrogen gas.

Thus, it recovers and revitalizes degraded areas, restores environments, and promotes a virtuous cycle for healthy plants, water, soil, and atmosphere, all without requiring any additional energy inputs.

  • We offer carbon reduction and offsetting solutions to organizations around the world, serving a wide range of clients, from individuals to large corporate emitters. 
  • We start by selecting degraded areas and, using restoration models based on the client’s by-products, co-products and solid waste, we use plants with a greater capacity for soil absorption and recovery to create a virtuous cycle in the affected areas and biomes.
  • All this action is permanently measured at monitoring stations with state-of-the-art sensors, measuring the ongoing process minute by minute.
  • Bluestword’s carbon credits are validated by Bureau Veritas under the Covalent Certification Standard. VCUs (Verified Credit Units) can be issued for reductions and removals of greenhouse gas emissions from the project start date.
